Telling Stories Through Journalism and Visual Media
Introduction
My name is JaDarius Duncan, and I am a multimedia journalist and public relations professional currently serving as a Public Affairs Specialist in the United States Army. In my role, I produce and manage visual and written content that informs the public, supports organizational transparency, and documents real-world events through photography, video, and written storytelling.
Career History
Before my current position, I have worked across multiple levels of public affairs within the Army, including roles as a Unit Public Affairs Representative, Battalion Public Affairs Officer, and Brigade Public Affairs NCOIC. My experience includes planning and executing communication strategies, covering large-scale training events and deployments, creating visual content for digital and social platforms, and writing news and feature stories for internal and public audiences. Alongside my military work, I also operate a creative media business focused on cinematic storytelling, photography, and short-form visual projects.
Education
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications from Full Sail University, where I developed a strong foundation in journalism, visual storytelling, and digital media production. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in New Media Journalism at Full Sail University, where my academic focus includes ethical reporting, audience engagement, and multimedia storytelling in modern digital environments.
Personal Details
Originally from the United States and currently based in Texas, I am deeply interested in storytelling that blends culture, identity, and real-life experiences. Outside of work, I enjoy filmmaking, photography, music, cycling, and developing creative projects that explore everyday moments through a cinematic lens. I’m especially drawn to stories that highlight underrepresented voices and the human side of complex systems.
